Get a temporary email address that expires after 15 minutes. During those 15 minutes you can read and reply to any messages

Musictheory A grass roots website that contains lessons, trainers, as well as several other utilities.

iLike

iLike is a music site where you can organize share and discover new music. There is an iLike side bar available for Windows Media Player as well as iTunes. You can even upload your own music to the site if you would like to.

Youtube

This is an obvious one. Watch videos of just about anything for free.

Freedocumentaries

This is an awesome catalog of documentaries about many different subjects. You can browse the films by region, theme, or title. The videos are free and are accompanied by a brief description, comments, and sometimes a link to a related page.

Buzzillions

Product reviews by consumers who have been verified by the retailer they purchased the item from. You can search for specific items or go through a preference-based menu to find products and reviews that are lined up with your intentions/interests/user level.

Craigslist

No matter what you need, chances are, you can probably find it here.

Farecast

Farecast provides predictions and trend analysis for airfares and hotel fees. In their own words, “Know When to Buy™: Our airfare prediction shows if fares are rising or dropping. Based on the prediction, we provide a recommendation to buy now or buy later. Know Where to Stay™: Our Rate Key™ indicates whether or not today's rate for a specific hotel is a deal. Pixalo

A great photography site that helps photographers no matter their skill level. It has a community forum were you can get equipment reviews and answers to your questions. The site also offers a free members gallery where you can upload your own photos.

Rutomail

This site is full of links to other sites. The links are organized into various categories including business, lifestyle, and Internet, etc...

Gyminee

A fitness website that allows you to set goals, track your progress, monitor and plan nutrition, and even invite or find new friends to coordinate with.

Roughguides

A pretty good travel website that provides many different ways of researching destinations.

Bugmenot

Type in a website that requires a username and password; Bugmenot provides you with a name and password to use…free. Useful for big websites, not really for obscure ones.

Wikipedia

Another seemingly obvious site…A user-dependant research site. Wikipedia is very adaptive in that you can cruise through a subject by clicking on embedded links to visit related articles and topics. This allows the researcher to see the topic from many different perspectives.

IMDB

Seriously, this is one of the most comprehensive movie information databases on the net. It is very, very thorough.

Chain of Thoughts

A seriously cool concept…you type in a subject you would like to research and this generates a list (you choose its length) of related keywords and topics. You can visit a Wikipedia page at any time or continue navigating through the related keywords until you find what you want. It is a very cool way of diversifying a research effort.

Some really interesting videos about varying topics.

Wiki Travel

Another Wikipedia inspired website relating to travel. Written and edited by users. This site promises to be one of the most useful of all travel sites due to its constantly being updated.

Fix It Club

Learn how to repair or recycle household items that you might otherwise throw away.

Simple Help

This site promises to, “help beginner-to-intermediate computer users learn how to do various things with their computers.” It is free.

Life Script

Life Script does sell health products but it also offers free newsletters and web portals with information and articles relating to general health, dieting, nutrition, beauty, etc.

Full Books

An index of thousands of books, free for you to read.

Study Guides and Strategies

A huge database of study guides for a number of subjects published in many different languages.

Meta Religion

This site contains a huge number of articles about religion, science, and philosophy and is published in Spanish and English.

Bibliomania

2,000+ free online classic texts plus a myriad of other articles/features.

World Freedom Atlas

The, “World Freedom Atlas,” provides a visual method of understanding the issues of freedom, human rights, democracy, etc in the world.

My Fit

This is a pretty good source for fitness information. The information is searchable and organized in a tabbed structure.

How to Clean Anything

Literally…this site provides tips about how to clean just about anything.

Dear Cupid

Ask, Answer, or browse through questions about any and every aspect of relationships. There are also many forums and articles available.

Help With PCs

This is a decent tutorial site that specializes in PC issues.

Sclipo

Sclipo is a video site that you can use to broadcast instructional videos that you edit or just to look up how-to videos. There is a live hosting feature, and the site is published in English, Espanol, and Deutsch.

Speed Test

A news site for broadband issues. This link is for a feature they provide that allows you to determine your IP address and test how well your broadband is operating.

Google Translate

This is another of the many cool Google applications out there. You can translate an entire web page or any other amount of text you need. There are a number of languages available.

Beer Advocate

As described by the owners, Beer Advocate helps you learn about, share, and advocate beer.

Music Mesh

Search for music videos and then browse the web that is created by your choices. Youtube provides the videos.

Live Plasma

Live Plasma is not the first site of its kind but it is the best site of its kind (If you ask me…which you didn't). You enter a movie, actor, director, musician, etc; and Live Plasma will create a web of related media for you to browse through. This is a very cool way to discover new movies and music based on what you already know.

A free fitness website that posts a new "Workout of the Day" every day. The workouts focus on total body fitness. The workouts are used by military personnel, athletes, and normal people. The site also contains an index of the exercises used in the workouts complete with videos and slideshows. They offer a newsletter for those willing to pay. It is an outstanding site for both fitness gurus and average Joes.

Lonely Planet

This site offers, among other things, an outstanding resource for anyone researching travel destinations.

Retail Me Not

A catalog of online coupons posted and reviewed by users. The coupons vary from sites like Polo to Amazon to Papajohns.

Web MD

Provides a reference for anyone looking to diagnose his or her symptoms or research medical issues. It is a good place to visit before making that, oh so expensive, trip to the doctor.

Epicurious

A source of cooking information ranging from recipes to techniques to restaurant reviews.

E-How

A reference site for just about everything else. Want to k now how to wax snow skis? Make pizza dough? Install a bathtub? This is the place.

Kayak

Combines search results from several different travel websites and presents them in a very user-friendly interactive format.

Bartleby

One of the better academic research websites I've come across.

How Stuff Works

A very cool website that contains explanations of those mysteries in life that you just can't figure out. A few examples are Murphy's Law, Pickpockets, and Light Sabers (Yes, light sabers).

Product Wiki

A wikipedia-type product review website. All reviews and articles are written and updated by the site's users.

What Should I Read Next

Can't decide what to read next? Simply enter a book title and/or author that you like and the site will recommend a number of books for you.

The Universal Packing List

This is a very unique website I found that creates a packing list for you based on information you provide regarding your trip and intentions/plans.

Happy Median

Enter your location and a friend's location and this site will tell you where you should meet (Halfway).

Musicovery

Seriously, the coolest music-related site I've seen. You choose the mood, intensity, and genres of the music you would like to hear and the site will provide you with a virtual web of music to explore. The web evolves with each choice you make. You can click on any song in the web at anytime.
